香港終身學習促進會首任主席為王煜照先生（Mr. Wang Yuzhao）。王先生為中國内地最早從事終身教育研究和實驗的學者之一，至今已達40年。
Mr. Wang Yuzhao, President of Hong Kong Association for Improvement of Lifelong Learning (HKAILL), has been engaging himself in the study and experiment on lifelong learning for 35 years, being one of the first scholars in mainland to work in this field.
王先生較早發表的《終身教育思想對當前中國成人高等教育改革的影响》（《成人高等教育研究》，華東師範大學，1989第1期）、《美國的函授學校及其课程》和《美國的社區学院与初级学院》等（译自《美國大百科全書》），以及《武漢成人高等教育的现狀及展望》 (《武漢成人教育理論研討會》（中國與加拿大合辦）主題論文之執笔者之一，1989.10)等，是其終身教育研究之階段性代表作。
Previous works of Mr. Wang’s include Influence of the Thoughts of Lifelong Education on Current in Chinese Adult Higher Education (Study on Adult Higher Education, East China Normal University, Issue 1, 1989), American Correspondence Schools and Their Courses and Community Colleges and Junior Colleges in America (translated from Encyclopedia Americana), and Status Quo and Future of Wuhan Adult Higher Education (theme paper of Wuhan Seminar on Adult Education Theories (jointly founded by China and Canada), one of byliners, October 1989), all of which are master works on lifelong education study in the age.
同時，王先生曾在武漢大學智力開發公司（1984）、華中師範大學科技教育開發中心、《嶺南文化時報》、廣州市社會科學院、廣東省文化學會、廣東省優生優育協會等機構涉足終身教育之實驗，並創辦廣東省華康自學考試輔導學校（中醫自攷大專文憑，1996）、1998年創辦中國首傢廣州沃爾德終身教育研究院，2002年創辦終身教育網www.lifelongedu.net.cn（现www.lifelongedu.world），以及出品中國首部大型專業工具書《中國現代集體兒童保健全書》(260万字，上、下卷)。因此，具有較多的終身教育實驗之經驗。
Meanwhile, Mr. Wang participated in lifelong education experiments in his spare time with Wuhan University Intelligence Development Corporation (1984 ), Scientific Education Development Company of East China Normal University (1988), Lingnan Cultural Times, Guangzhou Academy of Social Sciences, Guangdong Association of Association of Healthy Birth a nd Child Care. He founded Guangdong Huakang School of Self-taught Education and Examination (granting self-education diploma of junior college in traditional Chinese medicine) in 1996, established Guangzhou Academy of World Lifelong Education Research in 1998, and established the website www.lifelongedu.net.cn in 2002(www.lifelongedu.world), and published Guidelines for Modern Collective Healthcare and Hyginen for Children in China (2 volumes, 2.6 million Chinese characters,Second Edition in 2015), the first specialist reference book in China, thus gaining considerable experience of lifelong education experiments.
王先生願以其對終身教育研究和實驗之熱情與執著，以及失敗教訓與成功經驗，為中國内地與港、澳、臺及亞太區終身學習事業發展盡綿薄之力。
Mr. Wang enthusiastically devotes himself to study and experiment of lifelong education and aims to contribute to lifelong education development in mainland , and the Asia Pacific, making full use of lessons from failures and experience from successful cases.

The institute has remained faithful to its original ideas and mission, during the past years, “The
Seminar for Hygiene and Healthcare Management for Nurseries and Kindergartens ”
successfully held in cities like Shenzhen, Hainan and Xinjiang. And in the following years, the
“The Seminar for Hygiene and Healthcare Management for Nurseries and Kindergartens” will
be held in Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Singapore etc..
